### Role & Company / Project Overview IIT Madras is inviting applications for the position of Project Associate to work on optoelectronic nanomaterials and coatings under a Boeing-supported project titled 'Thin Film Coatings for Optoelectronics and its Characterisations'. Supervised by Prof. E. Hemaprabha and Prof. Surendra Babu Anantharaman, the associate will engage in industry-linked research focusing on advanced development and property evaluation. ### Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties • Lead nanomaterial and coating development activities. • Perform optoelectronic property characterization and analysis. • Work collaboratively with project associates and research scholars, sharing scientific knowledge and experimental insights. ### Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience • Educational Qualifications: Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Nanoscience, or a closely relevant field (preferred). • National Level Examinations: Candidates with NET or GATE qualifications (e.g., NET or GATE qualified candidates) are preferred. • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with nanomaterial synthesis, coating formulation/development, and optoelectronic measurement systems. ### Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details • Position Type: Full-time academic research project role. • Work Mode: On-site. • Location: IIT Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. • Joining Timeline: Preferred joining in the second week of November 2026, soon after appointment. ### Compensation & Benefits • Consolidated Pay: Rs. 45,000/- per month. ### Application Instructions • Submit your application via email with the subject line formatted as: LASER_COATING_YOUR NAME. • Clearly specify your preferred role in bold inside the email. • Indicate whether you hold a NET or GATE qualification, including the qualifying year in parentheses (e.g., NET (2025) or GATE (2026)). • Application Deadline: 3 November 2026. • Selection: Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.
