Job description
Role & Company / Project Overview: Skillcentric Talent Advisory is urgently hiring for a Senior Data Engineer (AWS) based in Bengaluru. This role is open to local candidates only and requires someone who can join immediately or within a maximum of 15 days. Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties: - Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud data warehouses including Fact and Dimensional tables. - Ingest structured and unstructured datasets into cloud-based tools. - Architect, build, and optimize high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and big data, utilizing PARQUET compression and SQL performance tuning. - Design multi-dimensional data models including Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, normalisation/de-normalisation, joins, OLAP cube modelling, and schema evolution while preserving data integrity. - Automate and maintain data ingestion, streaming, scheduling, and job monitoring using AWS services including Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift, and CodePipeline (CI/CD). - Manage source control, code collaboration, pull requests, branching models, and CI/CD workflows using GitHub. - Conduct root cause analysis across datasets to resolve complex technical challenges and answer business queries. - Partner with cross-functional teams and Global IT to gather business requirements, align data pipelines with business goals, and enforce data privacy and compliance standards (such as GDPR). Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology and Computer Science. - Experience: 4 to 8 years of total hands-on data engineering experience, with at least the most recent 2+ years dedicated to AWS cloud data warehouses and AWS cloud services. - Recent scope must explicitly demonstrate hands-on work with AWS data platforms and ETL pipeline implementation. - Advanced SQL proficiency, query authoring, relational databases, and deep hands-on expertise with AWS Redshift. - Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, highly scalable big data stores, and familiarity with Agile methodologies. - Preferred: Experience in Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries. - Notice Period: Immediate joiner or max 15 days (must be able to start within the next week). Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details: - Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India (Local candidates only). - Work Mode: Hybrid (4 Days/Week in office, WFH flexibility up to 6 days a month). Compensation & Benefits: - Salary: ₹11,00,000 – ₹18,00,000 per annum (₹11–18 LPA). - Candidate representation and placement services are completely free of charge.
