Job description

Appian Infotech is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI/ML Engineer for a 6 to 12+ month contract position based onsite in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will possess deep, hands-on expertise in backend engineering alongside cutting-edge artificial intelligence methodologies, specifically focusing on Agentic AI, AI Agents, Multi-Agent Workflows, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Core responsibilities and required skills include strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript for robust backend development, practical knowledge of frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI, and expertise in tool/function calling as well as prompt engineering and large language models (LLMs). Preference will be given to ex-Apple candidates as well as engineers with experience from leading product-based companies or fast-paced startups like PayPal, Netflix, Meta, AWS, and similar tech firms.
