Job description
• Role & Company / Project Overview Barceló Mussanah Resort is seeking an experienced and qualified professional to join the team as Chief Engineer. The candidate will oversee engineering operations, hotel maintenance, and MEP systems while maintaining high standards across the property. • Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties - Monitor and maintain the hotel's water supply, sewage, drainage, chilled water systems, boilers, pumps, generators, and other MEP systems. - Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, kitchens, swimming pools, plant rooms, and grounds are maintained to high standards. - Oversee preventive maintenance programs and hotel engineering operations. - Support hotel renovation, refurbishment, and engineering projects from planning through completion. - Obtain and evaluate quotations for maintenance works, equipment, spare parts, and engineering projects. - Supervise and manage contractors, suppliers, maintenance projects, and hotel renovations. - Supervise, guide, and motivate the Engineering team. - Monitor the Engineering Department's budget, expenses, energy consumption, and operational costs. - Handle energy management, cost control, and maintenance of engineering budgets. - Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements. - Coordinate and work effectively with all hotel departments. - Respond promptly to engineering emergencies and handle multiple competing operational priorities. • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field. - Previous experience in a Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager, or similar senior position is preferred. - In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire and life-safety systems, and general hotel maintenance. - Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and hotel engineering operations. - Strong leadership and team management skills with proven ability to supervise and motivate the engineering staff. - Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements. - Experience in energy management, cost control, and engineering budget management. - Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments. - Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong commitment to quality and guest satisfaction. - Proven ability to work under pressure, respond to emergency situations, and manage multiple priorities. - Relevant professional certifications or licenses will be considered an added advantage. • Working Hours, Shifts & Location Details - Location: Mussanah (Al Musanaah), Oman (Barceló Mussanah Resort). - Working on-site at the resort with readiness to respond to operational emergencies. • Application Instructions - Interested candidates should submit their CV to the HR Department.
